Our Software

Martello Systems builds and operates its own software for service businesses. These are the products, who they are for, and how they connect to the accounts a business already owns.

Martello Systems, LLC is a Salt Lake City studio. Alongside the done-for-you automation work described on our services pages, we build and run our own software products. Businesses subscribe to them directly and operate them themselves, with their own staff and their own customer data.

The products

For trades shops

TradesBackbone

Runs a trades business end to end. Office staff work it from a desk and technicians from a phone, on the same data. Available on the web and Android; an iOS app ships in the coming weeks.

  • Customer contacts and job history
  • Scheduling and dispatch
  • Estimates and invoicing with card payments
  • Automated follow-ups by text and email
  • Job photo documentation
For service businesses

Relay

A customer relationship system built around one shared inbox, so no enquiry sits in a channel nobody is watching.

  • Contacts, companies, and a pipeline view
  • Email, SMS, and chat in a single inbox
  • Workflow automation and follow-up sequences
  • Public booking page and review requests
  • Full data export at any time

Plans and pricing for the automation work we run for clients are on the pricing page. Each software product is sold on its own site at the links above.

Connecting Facebook and Instagram

Every business using our software owns its own Facebook Page and Instagram account. Both TradesBackbone and Relay let that business connect those accounts, so the messages and comments customers send on social media land in the same place as its phone calls, texts, and email.

The business owner connects the accounts themselves, from a Connect button in their account settings, and grants access through Facebook's own permission screen. Nothing is connected on their behalf and nothing happens until they do it.

Once connected, our software shows that business the messages and comments people have sent it on Facebook and Instagram. When the owner or their office staff writes a reply, we send that reply back on the business's behalf. In Relay, the software can also draft a suggested reply; the business decides whether those drafts wait for a person to approve them or send on their own, and can switch the feature off entirely.

How we handle that information

  • We show a business only its own conversations. One customer can never see another customer's messages or Pages.
  • We use this information to display conversations and to deliver the replies a business writes. Nothing else.
  • We do not use it for advertising, and we do not sell it or share it with data brokers.
  • We ask only for the access needed to read and answer messages and comments. We do not request permission to publish posts, and our software does not post to any Page or Instagram account.
  • A business can disconnect an account at any time from the same settings screen, which ends our access.
  • Anyone who has messaged a business can ask for their data to be deleted using the "Delete my data" link on the product they contacted. Requests are honoured whether they arrive through Facebook or directly from the person.
